"Love is the world" for Indonesia tsunami

Background

Indian Ocean tsunami in December 26, 2004, the scope of the earthquake occurred mainly in the Indian plate and the Asian plate junction, located in the Andaman Sea.
Sudden disaster to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, the Maldives and other countries caused huge casualties and property losses.
The statistics show until January 10, 2005, the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami have caused 15.6 million deaths, which may be nearly 200 years the world's deadliest tsunami disaster.


Brief:
Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang, Ann Hui  decided on January 7 large-scale disaster relief activities, " Love is the world ", held at the Hong Kong Stadium, the entire event for up to seven hours, the public can Free admission.
The topic is "Love is the world" and the theme song is "We are the world",  because the program does not provide free admission for this reason, and many knew the world was held fundraising gala sponsors have all participated. Because the all staff did not to take any reward,  hoping to minimize costs and stage construction aspects have been to help.

Idea:
A "zero-cost" special performances. This is  a "zero cost" funds operate of special performances. Including audio, lighting, stage engineering and plan, director, actor all the staff did not to take any reward.And one ticket 100 yuan all donated.The stars donation first and then sing.
Result:
Love is the world two hundred stars performed the fundraising over thirty million yuan.
Chinese oil workers donation 13.46 million yuan. China Red Cross donation 10.66 million yuan. "King" of all artists support, Emperor Foundation also donated more than one million yuan donation. Love is the world charity end, the total donation up 30.54 million yuan.

All the stars and major sponsors to participate in the world's disaster fundraiser shoot very well reflected in the people of the world unite, love and attaches great importance to the needs of people in disaster areas.  People understand the difficulties of people in disaster areas, and actively carry out charity concert for people in disaster areas can play a good role in the support and encouragement.

Action research

Action research is a applicable for research methods for educators. It is a methods and techniques, also is a new kind of Scientific concept, research type.
Action research is from the actual work needs to find topics, In the actual work process studies, by the actual workers and researchers to participate, research results for the actual workers to understand, master and apply, so as to achieve solve the problem, the purpose of changing social behavior research methods.


It is a combination of theory and practice, That data collection, cooperation explore self-reflection, multi summarize the final solution to the problem.

Thesis - Task 2

What is methodology

Methodology is that the people understand and transform the world's general approach, is people use what kind of  ways  and methods to observe things and deal with problems. Methodology mainly to solve the "how to do" issue.
Methodology is a system to solve the problem, often involve problems phases, tasks, tools and method technique's discuss.

Different types of methodology

Quantitative methodologies
These types of studies infer a tendency to "gives a number to the data" gathered. Some types of experiment is the part of this larger methodology. Its include statistical and correlational analysis, surveys and controlled experiments. 

Qualitative methodologies
Qualitative methodologies are more difference from the quantitative model because the system are to get the information that will reflect the content and meaning of the topic. Its included interviews, observation, field research and questionnaires.


Action Research Methodology

Action research methodology is another way theory in Qualitative Methodologies. For example: we do some experiments may be we will get some result and evaluate. But when we change one element to do experiment that we will get the different result and evaluate.


What is the difference between a Method and a Methodology?

1. method is a way to solve problem.
    methodology is include method. From methods to develop to make a theory.
2. method is way to complete a task.
    methodology is the study of a method or methods.

Thesis - What Is Research?


Research includes any gathering of data, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge. They should be viewed as an ever-changing process rather than a fixed set of steps. 
There are five steps have been going through a search:
Step 1: Pose a question and indicating purpose of the survey.
It must find out the research question when you go through a research before. And you must know you do this research of the survey.
Step 2: Collect, research and analysis data.
Gathering information related to the question. Exploratory research, which helps to identify and define a problem or question. 
Step 3: Put forward your own views and opinions.
Constructive research, which tests theories and proposes solutions to a problem or question. 
Step 4: Prove point of view.
Empirical research, which tests the feasibility of a solution using empirical evidence.
Step 5: Come to a conclusion.
Everything must be based on information found in research.

TASK 2 - Research & Find

TOPIC: Muji


Background

Muji is a Japanese retail company which sells a wide variety of household and consumer goods.
Muji is distinguished by its design minimalism, emphasis on recycling, avoidance of waste in production and packaging, and no-logo or "no-brand" policy.

Muji started with 40 products during the 1980s, their products range from stationery, and clothing for men and women, to food items and major kitchen appliances and has even included an automobile. Its primary business includes Café Muji, Meal Muji, Muji Campsite, florist and home furnishing; the company has also engaged in architectural project such as the Muji houses.

By the end of 2000s, Muji sells more than 7,000 products. It is positioned as a "reasonably priced" brand, keeping the retail prices of products "lower than usual" by the materials it selects, streamlining its manufacturing processes, and minimising packaging.



Brief

Muji is a groceries brand in Japan."无印" meaning no logo in Japanese. "良品"meaning "good things."无印良品"Good products without brand logo. Product categories of daily necessities mainly.





The Idea

Products design simple, concise, environmentally protection. In the packaging and product design are no brand logo. Product categories from pencils, notebooks, food and kitchen utensils.

Muji one of the biggest features of minimalism. The products no logo, eliminating unnecessary design, in addition to all unnecessary processing and color, Only the material and the feature itself.

Except shop sign and plastic bag's logo the customer is difficult to find it brand logo in all Muji's product. In the Muji store, except  the red "MUJI" logo, customers hardly see any bright colors, most of the products of main colors are white, beige, blue or black. White color symbolism elegant pure,simple red colour is a few bright color in the Muji store, more show product‘s concise and plain. 

Result

Its annual turnover of over 110 billion yen, more than 2,800 employees, is Japan's largest Life Style Store. Its was in the UK, France, Hong Kong has established three subsidiaries, more than 70 stores in abroad. Japan had survey 29 years to 32 years of consumer groups to brand favorability is the first, up 51.1%.

Marketing Problem




NO-brand brand
Muji's no-brand strategy (generic brand)means that little money is spent on advertisement or classical marketing, and Muji's success is attributed to word of mouth, a simple shopping experience and the anti-brand movement. Muji's no-brand strategy also means its products are attractive to customers who prefer unbranded products for purely aesthetic reasons.


In product development, Muji for design, raw material, prices have enacted strict stipulation.
Such as cloth to strictly observe no pattern, plaid, stripes and other design principles, color only using black and white, brown, blue, etc. no matter how popular the color of the year, and will never go beyond the design principles for product development.






MUJI is a simple, plain, textured, practical, emphasizing quality, not fancy,  quality assurance brand, let people feeling so close to life and MUJI's product refinement and practical.In product design with top designer's ideas and avant-garde concepts, played a good role of advertising. The products are accepted by different consumer groups, which also played an advocacy role.


TASK 1 - What is graphic Design?

The design has different connotations in the fields. In some cases, the direct construction of an object is also considered as the design. Design is the art of the possible. The design is the new world of imagination and proposed. We could say design is also a very human activity.

Graphic design is a creative process that combines art technology to communicate ideas. Design element includes symbols, image, shapes, photography, colors, texture, illustrations and type.

As a means of communication and performance. Through a variety of ways to create and combine symbols, images, text, visual representation used to convey ideas or messages. Using graphic design typography, visual arts, layout and other aspects of professional skills to achieve the goal of graphic design to create often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is packed and products (designs) which are generated.

The definition of the graph refers to artistic and professional use various ways to create and combine symbols, images and text to make used to convey the idea or message in visual performance.

 I choose movie "SIGNS".A guy lives in the normal life and a life of lonely person.He  want to falling in love with someone and get close to people but he can't make it.He hope to have something good happen to him. A life that just repeated the same thing. He do not want live like that. He finally find a girl who is interested in chatting with him.

The whole story used body language it is interesting part. Angle shooting are normal.  I love the music in this video because the music was so powerful to convey the mood of film. Soft lighting and music played a really important role in this film.
